Dinesh Bansal, # 1427, FF,Sec-15, Panchkula,HARYANA. dineshbansalvm@gmail.com
Arithmetic
Example 1. Multiply 996 x 988
Solution 998 – 012
966 – 004
----------------
984/048 = 984048 Answer.

Example 2. Multiply 241 x 324
Solution 241
324

--------
6/16/19/18/4 = 78084 Answer.

Example 3. Squaring 155
Solution 115² = 11 x 12 /25 = 13225 Answer.

Example 4. Cubing 105
Solution 105+10/15x5/5³ = 1157625 Answer.

Algebra

Example 5. Multiply (2x² + x + 3) x (3x² +2x +4).
Solution x² x c
2 1 3
3 2 4

------------------
6/7/19/10/12.
= 6x4 + 7x³ + 19x² + 10x + 12 Answers.

Example 6. Solve X + 1/X = 29/10.
Solution D = 10 = 5x2
N = 5² + 2² = 29.
So x = 5/2 or 2/5. Answer .

Examle 7. Solve 6x 104 – 35x³ + 62x² - 35x + 6 = 0.
Solution Putting y = x+1/x we get 6y² -35y + (62- 6- 6) = 0.
6y² - 35y + 50 = 0.
Gives y = 5/2 or 10/3.

Y = x+1/x =5/2 {X =2/1 or 1/2}
Y = x+1/x = 10/3 {X = 3/1 or 1/3} Answer.

Trignometry

Example 8. If Cos = 2/3 and Sin B = 5/6. Find Sin ( A + B)
Solution A = 2 ± √5 3
B = ± √11 5 6
+

A + B = ( √55 + 10)
Sum ( A+B ) =±(√55 + 10)

-----------------
18 Answer.

Example 9. Evalute tan-1 ½ + tan -1 1/3.
Solution A) 2 1 -
B) 3 1 -

------------------------
A+B = 5 5 1
= 1 1 √2 = 22 / 4

------
7
So tan-1 ½ + tan-1 1/3 = 22 x2 / 4. Answer.
